Correlations and Fluctuations in the Initial State of high energy Heavy Ion Collisions

چکیده

Initial states of high energy heavy ion collisions are studied using a dipole model through the DIPSY event generator that dynamically includes saturation together with the fluctuations and correlations of the BFKL cascade. The eccentricities ε1,2,3,4 are calculated at RHIC and LHC. Predictions are made for correlations and fluctuations in rapidity of the eccentricities, and conventional theoretical approximations are tested. A large set of initial state Au-Au, Cu-Au and Pb-Pb collisions have been generated and are published online.

Initial state fluctuations and final state collectivity in high energy nuclear collisions: Status and Outlook

We review recent developments in the theoretical description of the initial state and collective dynamics in heavy ion and light-heavy ion collisions. After describing the current state of the art in event by event simulations of high energy nuclear collisions we will focus on open issues. These include early time non-equilibrium dynamics, small collision systems (p+p, p+A), hydrodynamic fluctu...

Single-event Handbury-brown-twiss Interferometry

Received (received date) Revised (revised date) Large spatial density fluctuations in high-energy heavy-ion collisions can come from many sources: initial transverse density fluctuations, non-central collisions, phase transitions , surface tension, and fragmentations. The common presence of some of these sources in high-energy heavy-ion collisions suggests that large scale density fluctuations ...

Correlations and fluctuations in high-energy nuclear collisions.

Nucleon correlations in the target and projectile nuclei are shown to reduce significantly the fluctuations in multiple nucleon-nucleon collisions, total multiplicity and transverse energy in relativistic heavy-ion collisions, in particular for heavy projectile and target. The interplay between cross-section fluctuations, from color transparency and opacity, and nuclear correlations is calculat...

Interpreting Near-side Correlations and the RHIC Beam Energy Scan

Recent data from heavy ion collisions at RHIC show strong near-side correlations extending over several units of rapidity. This ridge-like correlation exhibits an abrupt onset with collision centrality. In this talk, I argue that the centrality and beam-energy dependence of these near-angle correlations could provide access to information about the Quark Gluon Plasma phase boundary and the Equa...

Φ-measure of Bose-Einstein correlations in high energy heavy-ion collisions

Event-by-event fluctuations for high energy heavy-ion collisions are investigated. The normally used Φ-measure are calculated for pions. It was found that multiparticle symmetrization correlation has great influence on the value of Φ if the phase space density is high. This effects has been neglected in previous derivation of Φ-measure. It was also argued that one may use Φ-measure in SPS energ...
